Apple Car Survey: Technology Important Factor for Car Buyers

Recent reports have claimed that tech giant Apple may be interested in getting into the automotive business. The company has reportedly talked to existing auto companies and some have even suggested that Apple may someday make its own vehicle. How many would be interested in owning an Apple car at some point?

In Ask Your Target Market’s latest survey, just 9% said they would definitely be interested in purchasing an Apple car if the company every decides to go that route. 33% said they would probably be interested in an Apple car. 38% said they would probably not be interested. And 20% said they would definitely not be interested.

Car Technology

Currently, 67% of respondents said they own a vehicle. 15% said that they don’t own one now, but have in the past. And 19% of respondents said they’ve never owned a car.

Even though Apple doesn’t make any cars yet, there are still a lot of options that offer cutting edge technology and features. 20% of those who have bought a car said that these features are very important when deciding which type of car to buy. 51% said that technology is somewhat important when considering a new car purchase. 21% said technology is somewhat unimportant. And 8% said that technology is very unimportant to them.

Apple Opinions

Advanced technology is one factor that will impact the eventual success of any potential Apple vehicles. But the Apple name will likely also play a role. 31% of overall respondents said they have a very positive brand perception of Apple. 38% described their opinion of the Apple brand as somewhat positive. 12% said they have a somewhat negative opinion of Apple. And just 5% said they have a very negative opinion of Apple. 14% were neutral or had no opinion.
