Chicken Wings Survey: Barbecue Named Most Popular Flavor

When talking about all-American foods, one can’t leave chicken wings out of the conversation. And today happens to be National Chicken Wing Day. So how many people enjoy chicken wings and how often do they do so? Also, what are their favorite brands and sauces when it comes to chicken wings?

In Ask Your Target Market’s latest survey, 65% of respondents said they have a generally positive opinion of chicken wings. Just 16% don’t like them. And 19% said they’re pretty neutral about them. 4% of respondents actually like chicken wings enough to eat them multiple times a week. 10% eat them about once a week. 17% eat them a few times per month. Another 17% do so about once a month. 21% eat them a few times per year. 19% said they rarely ever eat chicken wings. And 13% never do.

Favorite Sauces

Chicken wings can be enjoyed in plenty of different ways. People tend to have varying opinions when it comes to sauces in particular. Barbecue seems to be the most popular type; 43% said they prefer barbecue sauce with their chicken wings. 30% would rather have mild buffalo sauce. 24% prefer hot buffalo sauce. 14% like eating their chicken wings plain without any sauce. And 9% have other favorite wing sauces like teriyaki and garlic parmesan.

Wing Restaurants

There are also plenty of different restaurants as well as store brands for chicken wings. Buffalo Wild Wings was named the overwhelming favorite restaurant for chicken wings. Others include KFC, Hooters, Popeye’s and Domino’s. Popular store brands for chicken wings include Tyson and Perdue.
