Fast Food Survey: Customers Mostly Satisfied With Healthy Options

Fast food continues to be a huge part of American society, even through all of the health concerns that have come to light. But most customers are not patronizing these restaurants for their health benefits. So how do fast food customers rate their own healthy eating habits? And are they satisfied with the options available at fast food establishments?

In Ask Your Target Market’s latest survey, 4% of respondents said they eat fast food every day. 20% said they eat it a few times per week. 25% eat fast food about once per week. 22% eat it a few times per month. 15% eat it about once per month. 13% said they rarely eat fast food. And just 2% said they never eat fast food.

There are a few different reasons why people might choose fast food over other options. Convenience was at the top of the list, with 66% of respondents saying that it plays a part in their eating decisions. 36% said they just like eating fast food. 35% choose to eat fast food because of the price. 15% said they eat it because of a lack of other options. And 4% had other reasons for eating fast food, such as not knowing how to cook or looking for a change of pace.

Healthy Options

Fast food restaurants are not necessarily known for their health benefits. However, 12% of respondents said they are very satisfied with the amount of healthy options available at fast food restaurants. 51% said they are somewhat satisfied with the healthy options available. 23% said they are somewhat unsatisfied. And just 13% said they are very unsatisfied with the amount of healthy options available at fast food restaurants.

Healthy Eating

In general, just 10% of respondents said they would consider themselves to be very healthy. 62% consider themselves to be somewhat healthy. 22% said they are somewhat unhealthy. And 6% said they are very unhealthy. Of those who consider themselves to be very healthy, 29% said they rarely eat fast food, and just 2% said they never eat fast food.
