Online Dating Survey: Match, eHarmony Have Most Satisfied Users

Recent reports have suggested a surge in online dating participants over the past few years. The increase could be due in part to some new mobile apps and other innovations in the field. So how many people are currently using online dating compared to a few years ago? And what are the most popular sites and platforms?

In Ask Your Target Market’s latest survey, 6% of respondents said that they are currently using at least one online dating platform. And another 18% said that they have tried online dating in the past. In an October 2013 survey, 28% of respondents said that they had tried online dating at that point, so it seems that users haven’t really increased in the last couple of years. https://aytm.com/blog/daily-survey-results/online-dating-survey-2/

User Satisfaction

Match was named as the most popular online dating platform among respondents. They also named Plenty of Fish, OKCupid, Tinder, eHarmony and Christian Mingle as sites or apps that they’ve used for dating purposes.Overall, 48% of those who have tried online dating said they were at least somewhat satisfied with the experience. And 31% of users said that they are currently in a relationship thanks to an online dating site. Users of Match and eHarmony were most likely to currently be in a relationship thanks to online dating.

Future Users

Of those who have never used online dating sites, just 8% said that they would be at least somewhat likely to try online dating at some point in the future. 78% said that they would be unlikely to ever try online dating. And 14% were neutral or undecided.
