Ugly sweaters have become an integral part of holiday festivities over the past several years. What was once just a festive tradition for some older relatives and thrift store regulars has now spawned a host of parties and even its own holiday. Ugly Christmas sweaters are even sold at large retailers like Target and WalMart. So how many people have taken part in the ugly sweater tradition during the holidays?

Another 15% have bought them from chain stores. 12% have bought ugly sweaters online. And 7% have made their own ugly sweaters.

Parties and Holidays

It seems that not all those who take part in the ugly sweater trend have actually done so because of ugly sweater parties or National Ugly Christmas Sweater Day. 83% of overall respondents said they’ve never attended an ugly sweater party or celebrated National Ugly Christmas Sweater Day. 4% said they go to ugly sweater parties every year. And 14% said they have gone to at least one ugly sweater party at some point.
