Where are you from?
I was born in South Jersey, and grew up in a town called Mays Landing. During my Senior year of college, I accepted an internship with The Walt Disney World Company and was off to work for the mouse in Orlando for a year. Following the completion of my internship, I returned home to finish my degree. After graduating, I accepted a second internship with Walt Disney World, and made the decision to become a permanent resident here in Orlando.
If you could use 3 words to describe yourself what would they be?
Stardust, Caring, and Adventurous
Where did you attend school?
Stockton University in Galloway, NJ, is where I received my degree in marketing. Originally, I had planned to attend The Art Institutes in Philadelphia to study fashion design, but when I stepped onto Stockton’s campus, it just felt like the perfect place for me. The versatility of what marketing offers is what initially attracted me to the field. I have always been a creative person and I have always been interested in how businesses use creativity to grow. I found myself fascinated by consumer behavior. Marketing is very much about knowing the consumer, how and why they buy things, and this fascination led me towards pursuing market research.
What was your favorite subject in school?
During my high school years, I loved History. Not only was the content interesting, but my history teacher was phenomenal at getting you completely enthralled in his lessons. He was hilarious, passionate, and he cared! No other teacher could narrate the story of history in such a way that I wanted to hear what would happen when he continued the following day. Some of the most impactful days were when he hosted guest speakers, particularly World War II veterans and Holocaust survivors.
Who inspires you?
As cliché as it may be, my three older sisters inspire me! We did not have a conventional sibling relationship due to our age difference (18+ years), but I had the cool experience of growing up with three extraordinary women as role models. Their individual unique personalities and morals gives me inspiration every day. They are selfless as in they go above and beyond to help others, they are intelligent woman who constantly seek knowledge, and they have shown me how to become the best version of myself.
What do you like about working for AYTM?
Being a part of a team has been the most rewarding experience. Upon joining a virtual company, I did not know what to expect, but I have enjoyed closely connecting with others and working toward shared goals. I have only been with AYTM for a short while, but everyone has been beyond welcoming! I love helping our clients, and it is exciting to learn from our team’s exceptional insight each day. As my journey with AYTM continues, I look forward to building supportive relationships.
What are you passionate about?
Living in the moment and trying new experiences! The excitement that comes from trying something new or going to a new place leaves a rewarding feeling. I love this because a new experience can be as grand as taking a trip or as simple as trying a new restaurant. Some of my recent adventures include attending a show to one of my longtime favorite bands, trying a new Indian/Thai restaurant, learning to line dance (which I did not excel at), going on a helicopter tour, and visiting Pandora at Disney’s Animal Kingdom! Thrusting yourself into new situations and leaving yourself there alone, so to speak, often forces beneficial change. A spirit of constant self-challenge keeps you humble and open to new ideas. I will certainly miss the diversifying activities that the city of Orlando has to offer.
Films; I am a huge movie buff! Old or new, I enjoy them all. I have always been a night owl, and as a child watching films was the perfect pastime. Some of my earliest memories of films that intrigued me were the Sound of Music and The Wizard of Oz, but as I grew older I became a fan of Steven Spielberg ‘s and Wes Craven’s work. I cannot even count the amount of times I have watched Jaws or Scream! I also enjoy longboarding, it is great way to clear your head.
What is a special skill or interesting fact about you?
This year I have been dabbling in photography. A friend gave me her old Nikon and I have not been able to put the camera down. I learned that something does not immediately become captivating just because it was photographed. With some creativity and great lighting, anything can come to life. I often go to the Disney parks to test out my skills. I am by no means an expert, but I have found the beauty in capturing scenes from my life. I also own a Polaroid camera; instant film just has a fun and magical feeling to it.
