This week is known as Home Office Safety and Security Week. And since technology has made it easier than ever for people to telecommute or work out of their homes on a regular basis, the popularity of home offices has increased in recent years. So how many currently work out of a home office? And how would they describe their work and security habits when working from home?
Working From Home
In Ask Your Target Market’s latest survey, 17% of respondents said that they always work from home. 11% said they work from home most of the time. 12% do so about half the time. 14% said they rarely ever work from home. 24% never do. And said the question was not applicable to their situation.
When it comes to working from home, 82% of those who do so at least on occasion said that they enjoy it. 71% actually feel that they are more productive when they work from home, compared to working out of a more traditional office setting. And 72% said they feel secure about their equipment and data when they work from home.
However, not everyone who has worked from home actually has a dedicated home office. Just 19% of overall respondents said they have an entire dedicated home office room. 33% said they have a desk or a small part of a room that is set aside as an office space. And 48% do not have any kind of dedicated office space in their home.
When it comes to buying supplies or equipment for a home office, respondents named Office Depot, Staples, Walmart, Amazon, Target, Office Max and Ikea as some of their favorite stores.
