Junk Food Survey: Pizza, Chips Ranked as Favorites

Junk food is certainly a favorite of many consumers. With so many different types, from candy and cookies to burgers and French fries, there’s really something for everyone in the junk food department. So even though there are plenty of people who try and eat healthy whenever possible, holidays like National Junk Food Day, which happens to be today, offer opportunities for people to enjoy some of their favorite not-so-healthy items. What are people’s favorite kinds of junk food? And how many are likely to indulge today?

Eating Habits

In Ask Your Target Market’s latest survey, 54% consider their eating habits to be at least somewhat healthy. However, 63% said they still enjoy eating junk food from time to time. And 53% said they eat junk food more often than they probably should.

Although there are many different types, some of which can be healthier than others, pizza was named as the most popular type of junk food among respondents; 20% named it as their favorite among the types of junk food listed. It was followed closely by chips, candy, and burgers. Other desserts and fried foods were ranked lower in the junk food department. And soda was at the bottom of the list.

Food Brands

When it comes to specific brands, there are so many different ones that offer those popular types of junk food.
