As the holiday shopping season draws to a close, many last minute shoppers are scrambling to get all of their gifts together in time. Some stores and websites may offer last minute deals. But many of the major sales like Black Friday and Cyber Monday have come and gone. How many people will be taking part in some last minute shopping this year? And what are the top brands and stores that will be welcoming those last minute shoppers?
In Ask Your Target Market’s latest survey, 43% of respondents said they’ve already finished all of their holiday gift shopping for the year. 25% said they’ve completed most of their shopping. 5% have done about half of it. Another 5% have only done a little bit of it. 8% haven’t done any holiday gift shopping yet this year. And the remaining 13% don’t do any holiday shopping.
Last Minute Shopping
Of those who aren’t yet done with their holiday gift shopping, 73% said they are likely to do their shopping in stores. 34% said they are likely to shop online. And 6% were unsure or likely to shop in another way. Walmart was named as the most popular destination for last minute shoppers. Others said they are likely to shop at Amazon, Walgreens, Kohl’s, Kmart and Macy’s.
Last minute shoppers are also at least relatively likely to go after sales or discounts, even though many of the main sale events are over at this point. 60% of last minute shoppers said they are at least somewhat likely to make their buying decisions based on sales or discounts. 24% said they are unlikely to be affected by sales or discounts. And 16% were neutral or undecided.
