Microsoft Edge Survey: New Browser Could Attract More Users

Upon the release of Windows 10, Microsoft users will have a new browser option. The company is replacing its Internet Explorer browser, which has been a mainstay in the browser world even though it has drawn criticism in recent years, in favor of a new option called Microsoft Edge. So how many people are interested in using the new browser? And what are their opinions about their current browser options?

Internet Explorer

In Ask Your Target Market’s latest survey, 37% of respondents said they currently use Internet Explorer regularly. Another 39% said they have used it many times in the past. 18% said they’ve used Internet Explorer at least once. And just 7% of respondents said they’ve never used Internet Explorer.Overall, 36% of respondents said they have a positive opinion of Internet Explorer. 38% have a negative opinion of Internet Explorer. And 27% are neutral about the browser.

Browser Options

Currently, it seems that Internet Explorer is losing some users in favor of other browsers with more modern functions. 55% of respondents said they regularly use Google Chrome as their main browser. 39% said they regularly use Firefox. 28% use Internet Explorer as one of their main browsers. 11% use Safari. And just 3% use other browsers regularly.

So could Microsoft Edge and its modern functions be just the change that people are looking for? 44% of respondents said they would be likely to at least try using the new Microsoft Edge internet browser. 25% said they’d be unlikely to use it. And 30% were neutral. Overall, 90% of respondents have at least one device that uses a Windows operating system.
