MixBit Survey: Current Video App Users More Likely to Show Interest

YouTube’s founders have announced a new project that will be similar to mobile video apps like Vine and Instagram Video. MixBit is said to be different, however, in that it will allow users to edit multiple videos together and create even longer videos to share with their network. How many consumers might be interested in using such an app?

In Ask Your Target Market’s latest survey, just 2% of respondents said they know what MixBit is. 3% said that they have heard of it, though they don’t really know what it is. And 95% of respondents said they’ve never heard of MixBit.

The app is just in the beginning stages though, and other mobile video apps such as Vine and Instagram Video have been around for more time. 6% of overall respondents said they currently use Instagram Video. 2% use Vine. And another 5% use both apps for mobile video. 88% of respondents don’t use Vine or Instagram Video.

Of those who don’t use either of the most popular mobile video apps, just 5% said they definitely have an interest in creating and sharing videos with their mobile devices. 20% said they would probably be interested in mobile videos. 32% said they would probably not be interested. And 43% said they are definitely not interested in creating and sharing videos with their mobile devices.

However, of those who do use other mobile video apps, 36% said they would definitely be interested in using an app that allows them to edit other clips together and create longer videos. Another 42% said they would probably be interested in such an app. 16% said they probably wouldn’t be interested. And just 6% of current mobile video app users said they would definitely not be interested.
