Since tablet devices have been gaining users, advertisers have been looking for new and different ways to reach out to those users. Since tablets offer unique opportunities for interactive or enhanced ads, many companies have tried out different ad formats to help their messages stand out from the rest. But what do consumers think about these ads? How many users have interacted with ads on their tablet devices?
In Ask Your Target Market’s latest survey, 19% of tablet users said they often read digital magazines or similar publications using their tablets. 32% said they do so sometimes. Another 17% said they have read digital magazines once or twice. And 33% said they never read digital magazines.
Female respondents were more likely to own tablets, but less likely to read digital magazines or other publications. Respondents under 45 and those with at least some college education were more likely to own tablets and also more likely to read digital magazines.
32% of tablet readers said that they use their tablet as their main format for reading magazines and similar publications, and another 8% said they only read these types of publications on their tablets. 18% said they read on their tablet about as often as they read other formats. And 43% said they read other formats more often than their tablet.
20% of tablet users who read publications said they often come across enhanced ads such as videos and slideshows. 34% said they come across these types of ads sometimes. 27% said they have seen these types of ads once or twice. And 19% said they have never seen enhanced ads on their tablets.
36% of those tablet users who have seen enhanced ads said they have clicked links included in tablet ads. 13% said they have made purchases based on these ads. 10% said they have interacted with tablet ads in other ways. And 49% said they have never interacted with tablet ads.
