Music Streaming Survey: Vast Majority Already Happy With Streaming Services

Recent rumors have surfaced about new music streaming services from prominent companies Apple and Google. There are already a lot of players in this market. Is there room for more? How happy are the consumers who already stream music? And what do they think of Apple and Google?

In Ask Your Target Market’s latest survey, 16% of respondents said that they stream music often. Another 29% said that they sometimes stream music. 19% said that they rarely use music streaming services. And 37% said that they never use music streaming services.

Customer Loyalty

Of those who do stream music, 60% said they use Pandora. 25% said they use Spotify. 21% use iHeartRadio. 10% use Rhapsody. And 19% use other music streaming services such as Grooveshark and Last.fm. Overall, 38% of music streamers said they are very happy with their current provider. Another 50% said they are somewhat satisfied. 8% said they are somewhat unsatisfied. And only 3% said they are very unsatisfied. Pandora and Spotify customers were 6% more likely to say they are very satisfied.

Brand Perception

In general, 32% of respondents said that they have a very positive opinion of Apple as a brand. 28% said they have a somewhat positive opinion of Apple. 27% said they are neutral or undecided. 9% have a somewhat negative opinion of Apple. And just 3% said they have a very negative opinion.On the other hand, 42% of consumers said they have a very positive opinion of Google as a brand. 33% said they have a somewhat positive opinion. 20% said they are neutral or undecided. 4% said they have a somewhat negative opinion. And just 2% said they have a very negative opinion of Google.
