In Ask Your Target Market’s latest survey, just 11% of overall respondents said they currently have an Instagram account. But another 6% said that they have used Instagram in the past. And 83% said they have never signed up for the photo-sharing app.
But in general, 23% of respondents said they often share photos online. 35% said they share photos sometimes. 23% said they rarely share photos. And 19% said that they never share photos online.
33% of respondents said that they are very concerned about online privacy issues. 44% said that they are somewhat concerned. 19% said they are not very concerned. And just 3% of respondents said that they are not concerned with online privacy at all. Of those who share photos online, 31% said they are very concerned with privacy, and 47% said they are somewhat concerned. Instagram users were 9% more likely to be very concerned with online privacy issues.
More specifically, 37% of respondents said that they have strayed away from using a particular website or app because they were concerned with privacy issues. Another 31% said that privacy issues might have had something to do with their decisions to not use particular websites or apps. And 33% said that privacy has never impacted their choice to stay off certain sites.
