Vine Survey: Very Few Aware of New Mobile Video App

Last week, Twitter unveiled a brand new video app called Vine. The app has already gained some popularity, particularly among Twitter users. But how many are actually interested in such an app? And how many have already jumped on the Vine bandwagon?

In Ask Your Target Market’s latest survey, just 2% of respondents said that they have signed up for an account with Vine. 4% said they haven’t signed up yet, but they have seen Vine videos online. Another 8% said they’ve just heard of the app. And 87% said they have not yet heard about Vine.Overall, 50% of respondents said they currently have a Twitter account. Twitter users were just 1% more likely to have signed up for Vine and 4% more likely to have heard of it.

Mobile Devices

30% of consumers said they currently own a smartphone. 7% said they own a tablet. 5% said they own an iPod with internet access. 3% own a different type of mobile device. And 15% said they own multiple different mobile devices. 40% said they don’t own any mobile devices with internet access.

Video Apps

Just 8% of mobile consumers said they already have multiple different video apps downloaded. Another 8% said they have just one video app on their mobile device. And 83% don’t have any video apps on their smartphone or mobile device.Just 6% said they are very interested in creating mobile videos and sharing them online. Another 21% said they are somewhat interested in making and sharing mobile videos.
