March is known as Frozen Foods Month. And since frozen food offers people the ability to save some money and purchase meals and food items that are fairly convenient, it’s a pretty popular food category at any grocery store. So how many people eat frozen food regularly? And what are their favorite types and brands?
In Ask Your Target Market’s latest survey, 10% of respondents said they eat frozen foods every day. 42% usually eat them a few times per week. 14% eat them about once a week. 13% eat frozen foods a few times per month. 5% do so about once per month. 11% said they rarely ever eat frozen food. And 7% never do.
There are a few major reasons why people tend to purchase frozen food over fresh or other types of food items. But convenience seems to be the biggest reason for many buyers; 87% of respondents said they appreciate the convenience of frozen food items. 69% like the taste. 59% like the price. And another 59% said they have a generally positive opinion about the quality of frozen food items.
There are also plenty of different brands for people to choose from when it comes to frozen foods. Banquet, Stouffers, Lean Cuisine and Marie Callender’s were named the top frozen food brands according to respondents. Others mentioned include Swanson, Tyson, Jolly Green Giant, Birds’ Eye, Hungry Man, Ore Ida, Totinos and Weight Watchers.
