Hot Tea Survey: Hot Tea Slightly More Popular Than Iced Tea

January is known as National Hot Tea Month. Tea has long been considered one of the most popular hot beverages in many cultures. So just how many people like to drink hot tea regularly? And what are their favorite types, flavors and brands?

In Ask Your Target Market’s latest survey, 70% of respondents said that they have at least a somewhat positive opinion of tea. 12% said they even drink tea multiple times per day. 15% drink it daily. 22% drink it a few times per week. 23% drink it at least a few times per month. 17% said that they rarely ever drink tea. And just 12% never do.

Favorite Types

In general, 63% of tea drinkers said that they regularly drink hot tea. And 61% drink iced tea. When it comes to flavors, 54% named green tea as a favorite. 48% like regular old black tea. 37% enjoy lemon flavored tea. 26% like berry flavors. 24% like chai. 17% like white tea. And 17% named other favorite flavors, such as peppermint, chamomile and jasmine teas.

Top Brands

There are also plenty of different popular tea brands out there, both for hot tea and iced tea. Lipton was overwhelmingly named as respondents’ favorite tea brand. But other popular mentions include Celestial Seasonings, Arizona, Bigelow, Twinings, Tazo, Tetley, Stash and Yogi Tea.
