Yesterday was Oreo Cookie Day, a holiday created to celebrate America’s favorite sandwich cookie. While the classic Oreo is still incredibly popular, the company has released plenty of specialty flavors in recent years. And there are even more ways to enjoy Oreos as parts of other desserts. So how many people enjoy eating Oreos regularly? And what are their favorite ways to enjoy them?
In Ask Your Target Market’s latest survey, 75% of respondents said they have a generally positive opinion of Oreo cookies. Just 9% said they dislike them. And 17% were neutral about them.
In general, 7% said they purchase Oreos at least once a week. 9% buy them a few times a month. 15% buy them about once a month. 36% buy them a few times a year. 22% said they rarely ever purchase Oreos. And just 11% never buy them.
Although there are plenty of different varieties and flavors to choose from, the classic is still the most popular; 59% said that classic Oreos are their favorite. 35% like Double Stuf. 13% like mint, and another 13% like golden Oreos. 12% like the peanut butter flavor. 6% like birthday cake. Another 6% like s’mores. And 5% each like thins and minis. 4% like other flavors such as red velvet and cinnamon bun.
There are also plenty of different ways for people to eat their favorite Oreo cookies. However, 50% said they like eating Oreos mostly just on their own. 48% enjoy them with milk. 16% like eating them in ice cream. 5% like them with peanut butter. Another 5% like them in other types of baked goods. And 4% like eating them in other ways, such as fried or dipped in coffee or tea.
