If you’ve been to a movie theater in recent years, chances are you’ve at least had the opportunity to see a movie in 3D. According to Statista, revenue brought in by 3D cinema in the US and Canada has exceeded $1 billion. And now, you can even get a similar experience in your own home with a 3D TV and similar entertainment technology. So how many consumers are generally interested in 3D entertainment? We asked nearly 1,000 respondents about their thoughts on 3D movies and similar entertainment options.

However, of those interested, the vast majority said they would be likely to do so within the foreseeable future. So for companies that sell 3D TVs and similar equipment, the trick is going to be getting more people interested in the format overall. Since those who have seen 3D movies recently were more likely to be interested in owning their own 3D TVs, companies could potentially use that opportunity as a gateway to get customers interested. Starting ad campaigns that partner with specific movies or even offering incentives to theater customers could be a way to capitalize on people’s positive experiences with 3D entertainment. You can view the complete survey results in the widget below and be sure to click “Open Full Report” to take advantage of all the chart and filter options.Photo Credit: Media Markt_3D-TV by Media-Saturn-Holding GmbH under CC BY-ND 2.0What do you want to know?
