Coffee Survey: Folgers, Starbucks Named Top Brands

Coffee is one of the most popular beverages in the world. There are so many different types, flavors and brands for coffee lovers to choose from. And there’s even a shop selling it on pretty much every corner! So in honor of International Coffee Day, we asked respondents about their favorite types and brands of coffee. What shops and companies made the list?

In Ask Your Target Market’s latest survey, 68% of respondents said they have a generally positive opinion of coffee. 7% like it so much they drink five or more cups a day. 15% said they usually drink about three or four cups per day. 34% drink one or two cups per day. 10% just have a few cups of coffee each week. 5% only drink about one per week. 14% said they rarely ever drink coffee. And 15% said they never do.

Coffee Habits

There are, of course, plenty of different ways for people to get their regular coffee fix. 35% of coffee drinkers said they only ever drink coffee they make at home. 33% usually make it at home. 26% said they sometimes make it at home and sometimes go out for coffee. 4% said they usually go out and buy it from cafes or restaurants. And 2% said they only ever go out for coffee, rather than making it at home.

Favorite Types

When it comes to brewing methods, the classic technique still seems to be the one people enjoy the most. 69% said that traditional brewing is their favorite. 27% enjoy single-serve or Keurig brewed coffee. 6% like French press. Another 6% like cold brew. 4% like Bulletproof. And 3% had other favorite techniques, such as drip or stove top methods.As far as brands are concerned, Folgers stood out as the most popular store-bought brand, with Maxwell House as a close second. Starbucks and Dunkin donuts were the favorite coffee shop or café brands mentioned. Other favorites among respondents include Nescafe, Gevalia, Seattle’s Best and Trader Joe’s.
