Today is National Hat Day. Since there are so many different types of hat styles and options out there, there are plenty of different ways to take part in this holiday. So what are the most popular hat styles out there? How many people wear hats on a regular basis? And where do they normally buy them?
Hat Wearers
In Ask Your Target Market’s latest survey, 11% of respondents said they wear hats every day. 17% wear them a few times per week. 3% wear them just about once per week. 7% said they wear them a few times per month. 5% wear them about once per month. 33% said they rarely ever wear hats. And 26% never do.
Popular Styles
Baseball hats were chosen as the most popular style; 51% of hat wearers said they wear baseball caps regularly. 42% said they regularly wear knit or winter type hats. 18% wear sun hats. 11% wear fedoras. 8% wear cowboy hats. 7% wear newsboy caps. Another 7% wear straw hats. And 10% wear other types of hats such as beanies and hard hats.
Hat Brands
Since there are so many different types of hats out there, shoppers have lots of different choices when it comes to brands and stores. Nike, New Era, Lid and NFL were named as popular hat brands. And people named Walmart, Macy’s and eBay as popular stores where they’ve purchased hats.
