July is National Ice Cream Month. And since it’s the middle of summer, it’s also the time of year when a lot of people gravitate toward ice cream as their dessert of choice. But with so many different types of flavors, brands and ice cream shops, there’s something different for pretty much everyone to enjoy. So what are the most popular types of ice cream this time of year?
Ice Cream Opinions
In Ask Your Target Market’s latest survey, 85% of respondents said they have a positive opinion of ice cream. Just 4% said they don’t like ice cream. And 11% are neutral about it. In fact, 6% of respondents like ice cream so much that they eat it every day. 22% eat it a few times per week. 11% said they eat it about once per week. 30% eat ice cream a few times per month. 13% eat it about once per month. 16% rarely ever eat ice cream. And 2% never do.
Favorite Flavors
With so many different flavors to choose from, it’s the classics that most people still gravitate toward. 37% named chocolate as their favorite ice cream flavor. 34% prefer vanilla. 22% like cookies and cream. 21% like mint chocolate chip. 17% like strawberry. 16% named chocolate and vanilla twist, rocky road and cookie dough as their favorite flavors. And 14% named other flavors as their favorites, such as butter pecan, peanut butter and blueberry.
Brands and Shops
There are also plenty of different brands and ice cream shops for people to choose from. Respondents named Breyer’s, Ben and Jerry’s and Blue Bunny as their favorite ice cream brands to buy in stores. And they named Baskin Robbins, Dairy Queen and Coldstone as their favorite ice cream shops.
