This week, America celebrated National Potato Chip Day. Potato chips are some of the most popular salty snacks around. And with so many different flavors and brands to choose from, there’s a potato chip out there for pretty much everyone. So how many people choose to eat potato chips regularly? And what are their favorite types?
Potato Chips
In Ask Your Target Market’s latest survey, 72% of respondents said that they have a generally positive opinion of potato chips. Just 9% dislike them. And 19% are neutral or have no opinion.Just 8% of respondents said that they eat potato chips pretty much every day. 32% have them a few times per week. 20% eat them about once per week. Another 20% have them at least once a month. 18% said that they rarely ever eat potato chips. And just 3% never eat them.
Favorite Flavors
There are many different flavors to choose from when it comes to potato chips, but some of the classics are still the most popular. 41% named regular old potato chips as their favorite type. 35% enjoy barbecue chips. 30% named sour cream and onion as a favorite flavor. 24% like kettle cooked chips. 21% like cheddar flavored chips. 16% enjoy salt and vinegar. And 7% named other favorite flavors like spicy, onion and garlic or dill pickle.
Favorite Brands
Lay’s was overwhelmingly chosen by respondents as their favorite potato chip brand. But there are plenty of other brands out there. Others named by respondents include Pringles, Vickie’s Snyder’s, Utz, Herr’s and Better Made.
