Tomorrow is Girl Scout Cookie Day, a day that celebrates the Girl Scouts organization and one of their biggest fundraisers of the year – cookies. There are so many different types of Girl Scout Cookies for people to enjoy each year. So how many plan to buy some this year compared with previous years? And what are the most popular cookie flavors?
Cookie Buyers
In Ask Your Target Market’s latest survey, 44% of respondents said that they are at least somewhat likely to purchase Girl Scout Cookies this year. That’s very comparable to a February 2015 survey, where 45% of respondents said that they planned on buying Girl Scout Cookies during the upcoming cookie season. This year, 42% said they are unlikely to purchase any cookies. And 14% are neutral or undecided.
Buying Habits
Looking back at past cookie seasons, 16% of overall respondents said that they normally purchase Girl Scout Cookies every year. 46% said they’ve bought them many times. 22% have purchased them at least once. And just 17% of respondents said that they’ve never bought any Girl Scout Cookies in past years.
Favorite Cookies
With so many different types and flavors to choose from, some of the classics are still at the top of people’s lists. Thin Mints were named as the most popular type of Girl Scout Cookie, with 57% of respondents selecting them as a favorite. 40% named Samoas as a favorite. 32% said they like Tagalongs. 19% enjoy Do-Si-Dos. 14% like Trefoils. 10% like Savannah Smiles. 8% like Rah Rah Raisins. And 5% named other favorite cookie types, such as Caramel Delites and Lemonades.
