Hamburger Survey: Fast Food Restaurants Top List for Favorite Burgers

May is known as Hamburger month. Hamburgers are incredibly popular, especially during the spring and summer months when Americans can cook burgers outside on the grill or enjoy them at outdoor restaurants. So how many people consider hamburgers to be among their favorite food items? And what are their favorite ways to enjoy those burgers?

In Ask Your Target Market’s latest survey, 73% of respondents said they have a generally positive opinion of hamburgers. 9% said they don’t like them. And 18% are neutral or have no opinion about them.In fact, 33% of respondents enjoy hamburgers so much that they eat them at least once a week. Another 33% eat them at least once a month. 15% eat them a few times per year. 12% said that they rarely ever eat hamburgers. And just 7% never do.

Favorite Burgers

There are plenty of different ways that people can enjoy their hamburgers. Some of the top restaurants and brands named by respondents include Burger King, Wendy’s, McDonald’s, Red Robin, Sonic, Culver’s, In-n-Out, Hardees, Checker’s and Five Guys.There are also plenty of different toppings that people can enjoy on their burgers. The most popular burger topping is cheese; 73% said they like cheese on their burgers. 60% each like ketchup, lettuce and tomatoes. 53% like onion on their burgers. 52% like pickles. 49% like bacon. 46% like mustard. 43% like mayo. And just 3% like other burger toppings like mushrooms, peppers and avocado.

Hamburger Alternatives

There are also several other types of burgers available for those who don’t like regular hamburgers or want healthier options. 30% of respondents said they enjoy turkey burgers. 22% like veggie burgers. 19% like black bean burgers. 8% like soy burgers.
