In recent years, online grocery shopping has increased in popularity thanks to sites like Peapod and Amazon Fresh. Since today is Shop Online for Groceries Day, we asked shoppers what they think about the online grocery shopping experience. How many have actually used online grocery shopping services? And how many are likely to do so in the future?
In Ask Your Target Market’s latest survey, 5% of respondents said that they always buy groceries online. 19% sometimes grocery shop online. And 10% have done so at least once. The most popular sites mentioned for online groceries include Amazon, Walmart, Peapod, Shoprite and Netgrocer.
Those who have used online grocery services seem to be fairly satisfied with the experience overall. 64% said they are satisfied with the price of online groceries. 69% are satisfied with the variety of different grocery items available online. And 84% said they are satisfied with how easy it is to order groceries online.
Of those who have not ever used online grocery shopping services, just 15% said they would be likely to start shopping online for groceries within the next few years. 64% said they would be unlikely to do so. And 21% are neutral or unsure about it at this point.
