Plastic bottles have long been used to hold various beverages. While they are certainly convenient, they are far from earth friendly. Some companies have tried to come up with alternatives, from reusable bottles to those made with recycled materials. So how many consumers take advantage of these more environmentally conscious alternatives? And how many still regularly drink from plastic bottles?
In Ask Your Target Market’s latest survey, 19% of respondents said they drink out of plastic bottles multiple times per day. 28% said they drink out of plastic bottles every day. 20% do so a few times per week. 7% use plastic bottles about once per week. Another 7% do so a few times per month. 16% said they rarely drink out of them. And just 3% said they don’t ever drink out of plastic bottles.
There are currently a few different types of alternatives for people who want to enjoy beverages on the go without wasting resources with plastic bottles. 36% said they often use these types of eco-friendly alternatives to plastic bottles. 31% use them sometimes. 19% rarely every use them. And 14% of respondents said they never use alternatives to plastic bottles.But not all of these alternatives are really popular or convenient for every consumer. However, if there was a more convenient eco-friendly alternative to plastic bottles, 59% said they would be likely to purchase it.
Eco Friendly Brands
Of the current alternatives available, it seems that water filters are the most popular. Brita and Pur were named as the top brands in that arena. But some people also mentioned using reusable bottles from brands like Neogene and Rubbermaid. And others simply use containers made from other materials or reuse their plastic bottles.
