Apple is reportedly working on developing headphones that could connect to phones using both wired and wireless systems. This would make sense given the rumors about the next iPhone potentially being released without a traditional headphone jack. So how many people already own wireless headphones? And how many would be likely to buy them if the next iPhone comes without a headphone jack?
Wireless Headphones
In Ask Your Target Market’s latest survey, 70% of respondents said that they currently own at least one pair of headphones or earbuds. But of those respondents, just 33% said that their headphones or earbuds are wireless. And 67% only own regular wire-connected headphones.
Headphone Jack
Looking forward, 30% of respondents said that they are likely to buy a pair of wireless headphones in the next year. And 27% said that they would be likely to purchase wireless headphones if the next iPhone model comes without a headphone jack.
iPhone Owners
Overall, 26% of respondents said that they currently own an iPhone. Another 40% own another type of smartphone. And 35% don’t own a smartphone at all. Those who currently own an iPhone were 25% more likely to say that they’ll purchase wireless headphones if the next iPhone comes without a headphone jack. You can view the complete survey results in the widget below and be sure to click “Open Full Report” to take advantage of all the chart and filter options.Photo Credit: Wireless headphones from FlickrWhat do you want to know?
