Web Browsers Survey: Chrome and Firefox Gaining Users from Internet Explorer

Internet Explorer recently released a new update, and some studies have shown that the browser has retaken some of its former market share. Though some other web browsers have gained users in recent years, Internet Explorer remains relatively popular. Which browsers are currently the most popular with their users?

In Ask Your Target Market’s latest survey, just 42% of respondents said that they regularly use Internet Explorer, while 45% said they use Google Chrome and 44% use Firefox. 10% said they regularly use Safari. 4% use Opera. And 2% use other browser options.Those are the browsers that are currently used on a regular basis, but many people have tried other browsers as well. For instance, 89% of respondents said they have used Internet Explorer at some point. 70% said they have used Firefox. 68% have used Google Chrome. 36% have used Safari. 21% have used Opera. And just 6% have used other web browsers.

User Satisfaction

Overall, 55% of respondents said they are very satisfied with their current browser, and 38% said they are somewhat satisfied. 50% of Internet Explorer users said they are very satisfied. 55% of Firefox users said they are very satisfied. 53% of Chrome users said they are very satisfied. 55% of Safari users said they are very satisfied. And 44% of Opera users said they are very satisfied.

Browser Updates

Nearly all of the browser options come out with regular updates that can significantly impact the user experience. 47% of respondents said they always update their browser when one is available. 34% said they update most of the time. 10% said they update about half the time. 7% said they rarely update. And 2% said they never do.
