iPhone 6 Survey: Nearly Half Considering New Devices

Apple has now sold over 10 million models of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. Both of the new models are larger and come with a few other new features and options. But the iPhone has been a popular smartphone line for years, so plenty of loyal customers will continue buying new models no matter what. How many are still interested in buying the iPhone 6 models? And how many of them are already loyal iPhone customers?

Smartphone Buyers

In Ask Your Target Market’s latest survey, 56% of respondents said they currently own a smartphone. In addition, 17% of respondents said they definitely plan to buy a new smartphone within the next year. 26% said they will probably buy a new smartphone this year. 34% said they probably won’t buy a smartphone this year. And 23% said they definitely don’t plan to buy a new smartphone this year. Of those who don’t already own a smartphone, just 9% said they definitely plan to buy one within the next year. And 18% said they would be somewhat likely to buy one in that time period.

iPhone Users

The Apple brand is already incredibly popular in the world of smartphones. Though Android offers more models and has more overall customers, Apple has been known for innovative devices and extremely loyal and enthusiastic customers. 43% of smartphone owners said that they currently own an iPhone. Just 10% said they’ve owned an iPhone in the past but don’t anymore. And 47% of smartphone owners said they’ve never owned an iPhone.

Currently, 7% of respondents said they already own either the iPhone 6 or the iPhone 6 Plus. 26% said they are very likely to buy either the iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus as their next phone. 19% said they are somewhat likely to purchase an iPhone 6. Another 19% said they would be somewhat unlikely to purchase an iPhone 6. And 29% said they would be very unlikely to purchase one.
