iWatch Survey: Potential Customers Interested in Apple Smart Watch

Rumors of an Apple smart watch continue to circulate. Whether or not it will actually be called iWatch, Apple’s jump into the smart watch market will definitely create a lot of buzz. How many consumers would be interested in owning a smart watch? And how many of them would specifically like to own an iWatch or Apple smart watch?


Smart Watches

In Ask Your Target Market’s latest survey, 23% of respondents said they always wear a regular watch. 24% said they sometimes wear one. 23% rarely wear one. And 30% of respondents said they never wear a watch.

There’s already a small market of available smart watches, including offerings from tech companies like Samsung. However, just 4% of respondents said they already own a smart watch. 14% said they would definitely be interested in owning a smart watch. 23% said they would probably be interested in getting a smart watch at some point. 27% said they would probably not be interested. And 33% said they would definitely not be interested. Interest hasn’t grown much in the past year though. In a July 2013 survey, 41% were at least somewhat interested in smart watches.


More specifically, 28% of those respondents who are at least somewhat interested in owning a smart watch said they would definitely prefer to buy one made by Apple. 53% said they would be somewhat interested in an Apple smart watch. 14% said they would not be very interested. And just 4% said they are not at all interested in an Apple smart watch.

Apple Opinions

In general, 30% of respondents said they have a very positive opinion of Apple’s products and technology. 37% said they have a somewhat positive opinion of Apple. 9% said they have a somewhat negative opinion of Apple. And just 3% have a very negative opinion of Apple. The remaining 22% have no opinion or have never owned Apple products.
